Someone is 28!!!!

I know that Andy is going to kill me when he sees this post, but it is a risk that I am willing to take. June 21st is one of my favorite days because this is the day that Andy and I are no longer the same age and I can go back to teasing him about how old he is. Andy turned 28 on Saturday and I just wanted to write this to tell him HAPPY BIRTHDAY and that I love him.

10 (I can come up with more but I don't want to bore you!) Reasons I Love Him...

1. His loyalty. I have never met a human as loyal as Andy.

2. His patience. If you know me then you can only imagine that he is the most patient man on earth.

3. His love for me. No matter what I do or what I say I know that he will love me forever just how I am.

4. He is so funny and makes me laugh all the time.

5. His calmness. He calms me down when I don't think that it is possible, and he never loses his temper.

6. He can't say no. It drives me crazy sometimes but he would do anything for anyone and I love him for it.

7. He can fix anything. I mean anything and you don't even have to ask him. I will just come home and it is done.

8. He listens well. Sometimes I think that he never hears me, but he does and I usually realize this when he surprises me when I least expect it.

9. He will kill bugs for me. He deals with my skittishness (is that even a word) towards bugs and only tells me that I am acting silly some of the time.

10. He is just so dang HOT! He still makes my heart skip when he comes into the room.

I love you Andy even though I know you will hate this post and will tell me that how silly I am later and will probably ask me to take it down. You are the best husband (I know you already know that) in the world and I am so proud to be your wife. I hope that you had a wonderful birthday!!!! XXOO

Happy Father's Day

I just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to Bill and Granddaddy! I hope that your day was filled with fun and happiness! Andy and I got to spend the day going to church and having lunch with his father Bill aka "Dad". He is wonderful. We then went home to gather our things and head down to the lake with the family, minus Cally. She of off traveling the world. She just returned from Guatemala, and is currently in London and then heading to Spain. She is the traveler of the family...we miss you Cal!!! We had a blast at the lake and Bill, Andy and I got to ski. I love watching Andy ski. It is so smooth. Although I do get a bit jealous, but I have to remind myself that he has been skiing now for 25 years or something. We had a wonderful dinner on the porch looking out over our favorite lake, Melton Hill. I fear that we will get a lot more boat traffic on the lake as Hardin Valley is developed but that is neither here nor there right now. At any rate, back to the Father's Day. I ended with a wonderful evening back at the house watching TV together on the couch. My favorite way to spend an evening. I hope that all the father's out there had a wonderful day!!!! A post is never good without a picture so here are some from out wedding with our favorite fathers, Bill aka "Dad" and Bill aka "Granddaddy". I love both of these pictures as it shows the joy and happiness of the day. It was a great start to a great lifetime together.

Thanking Mom

I have the best Mom in the whole world. I am not just saying that. I grew up and it was just my mom and me. We had the best time. When I think back to my childhood I am flooded with memories of so many fun adventures that my mom and I went on. She took me hiking, camping, rafting, driving in fields with the music as loud as possible, to the beach, singing in the car at the top of our lungs, playing in the backyard, after dinner walks around the neighborhood, trips down the street to get ice cream, and many other wonderful times. The greatest thing that I remember is how much my mom loved me and she showed it to me everyday. There has never been a day in my life where I have doubted my mother's love for me. I clearly remember her asking me one day if I thought that she told me that she loved me too much. "No!" was my answer. My mom gave me so many gifts growing up but the greatest was her love and how she taught me to love. I can't wait for the day when Andy and I have children. It may be a few more years but, I can't wait to show our children my love for them and teach them what my mother taught me and that is... how to love others. I love you Mom!!!

I wanted the chance in writing this post to be able to publicly tell my mother that I love her. I also wanted to share another story about a woman who clearly loves her children and had the ultimate heartbreak of losing a child. Now as I said before I am not a mother and so I don't know the kind of love that a mother has for a child, but reading this story was heartbreaking and heart mending all at the same time. This woman is an amazing mother and you feel it when you read her story. I will warn you that it may just make you cry but it may just make you a better person. I would tell you to start at the beginning of her blog and read it though as she wrote it. The story is of having everything that you ever wanted, losing part of it and the journey that follows. It is quite powerful. Here is a picture of her darling little girl Ava! Once you read her story you will understand this more, but don't you think she is quite the Super Princess!!!!!
